Using Ceven inside Slack
TL;DR: @-mention
@Ceven in any channel, or DM the bot directly. Ask in plain English. The bot will post a "Thinking…" placeholder, then edit it with the real answer. The wordings below are examples, not commands. Ceven understands intent and context — say it however feels natural. "Who's our top customer?" and "tell me about the highest-grossing account this quarter" route to the same answer. References to "this month", "last quarter", "recently" are interpreted relative to today. The bot disambiguates when it's unsure rather than guessing.

Some asks skip the LLM and answer instantly:

Threading — context carries over
Once the bot replies, you can keep asking follow-ups in the same thread without re-mentioning @Ceven. It pulls the prior turns automatically:
You: @Ceven what's our headcount?
Bot: 8 active employees on file.
You: how many of those are in engineering?
Bot: 3 — Jordan Park, Diego Reyes, Priya Shah (manager).
You: and who manages them?
Bot: Priya Shah.
Privacy
The bot only reads messages where you @-mention it or where it's posted before. It never reads channels it isn't invited to, and DMs stay visible only to you and Ceven (audit-logged on the backend, not shared with other tenants). See data & privacy for full detail.
What if it gets something wrong?
- Reply in-thread with the correction. The bot picks it up next turn.
- If something keeps tripping it up, send the exact wording to hello@ceven.io — we add corpus examples for known-bad patterns.
